WATCH

The short film A Woman Gets Ready explores societal expectations and pressures placed on women. After Tilla locks herself out of her apartment, she repeatedly walks up and down the staircase seeking help from her neighbors. Along the way she is confronted with various perspectives on gender roles. The poster visually represents the beauty of imperfection in
women’s appearance through a paper cut design. The typography is stretched and compressed to symbolize the adaptation and constraints of female gender roles in society.
QUOTE OF PRODUCTION
We want to be liked and still ourselves. We want to be loved and still feel respected. We want to look good, but isn’t it the inside, that counts? The pressure, the expectations, the hopes. It boils down to this one moment: How can we stay true to us?

The purpose of making this film is to make the unseen visible, the inner monologue heard, the unspoken outspoken. And to grasp our mental load around the most beautiful topic on earth: love.
