The initiative Navire Avenir invited designers to conceptualize ideas for a newly built sea rescue ship, which will sail missions in the Mediterranean. In a team of four, we asked ourselves how we
could help children in particular to overcome their traumatic experiences. The graphic novel Our Friend/Ship tells the story of the space refugee Ody, who is searching for a life in freedom. Ody‘s story tries to bring the sensitive topic of flight closer to children by using an analogy. The sea becomes the universe and the sea rescue ship becomes the space rescue ship of Ody and his friends.
